The popular scarecrow festival in Wray, Lancaster, will start again this coming weekend (Saturday, April 26).
Village mascot, Worzel, has announced that this year’s theme will be ‘Circus’. Former years have included a ‘Sci-fi’ theme in 2024 and ‘Magic’ in 2023.

Launching with a 10km race on Saturday, the festival will see scarecrows adorning each street corner around the village until Bank Holiday Monday (May 5).
The trail is small enough to do with a pram or with toddlers and will be on throughout the weekdays when streets will be quieter.
Visitors can do a loop of the village starting and ending at the village playground, where there are portaloos.
