The Duke’s Theatre, Lancaster, have announced their Play in the Park 2025 will be the Wizard of Oz.
The annual show takes place around Williamson’s Park where audiences are taken to different stages to immerse themselves in the play.
Last year it was Alice in Wonderland, and event organisers have announced this year’s play will be based around Dorothy and set in Lancaster.

According to The Duke’s website: “Dorothy is desperately searching for fluffy runaway Toto when a storm sweeps her away from her home in Lancaster into a world full of surprises and wonder.
“With her new found companions: the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion, Dorothy must navigate the curiosities and dangers of Oz, all while staying one step ahead of the Wicked Witch. Along the way, she’ll discover that courage, heart, and wisdom can be found in the most unexpected places.”
Prices start from £17 for children, £24 for adults or £72 for families of 2 adults and 2 children.
The play runs across various times and dates from Friday, July 18 to Sunday, August 24 2025.
